Behind the scenes at Encantada
In 2022, we ventured into the unknown. The four of us moved to the north of Spain. We found our own place in a completely new environment and immersed ourselves in a new language. We started from scratch to give ourselves and our daughters a unique life experience.
Encantada originated from our family of 4 and from the desire to combine our passions within a greater whole. Those passions are on the one hand bringing people together and creating interesting encounters, and on the other hand caring for others by creating a homely feeling. The location where we can bring all this together is Encantada.
Encantada: where what you do, converts into magic.
Our mission? To inspire and to undertake, between mountains and sea.
Encantada herself speaking
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Encantada and was built in the early 20th century. For years I was a home for several families. During that time we made the most beautiful memories together and shared each other’s joys and sorrows. Unfortunately, that came to an end and I was then left to my own devices for several years.
When some people finally took care of me in 2019, my beauty was rediscovered. Intensive renovation works, while preserving some historical elements, make my traditional Alt Emporda style come back into its own. Thanks to carefully selected decorative elements, I can now proudly say that I am again ready to let you enjoy my charm and splendor.
It is for this same charm and splendor that my current owners have fallen. From our first encounter, it was love at first sight for all of us. I found in them a loving companion for a new chapter in my life. They found in me a warm home for their young family and soon they also discovered my immeasurable potential.
About local products and sustainability
Being able to work together with local parties and products, we feel as a great added value.
For example, a few villages away there is a winery called Vins de Taller. On the surrounding vineyards, the grapes are grown with extreme care. The organic and biodynamic approach contributes to the taste and character of each wine.
Further down the road Mas Bordas is located, along with its 15 hectares of olive groves. From a single cold pressing they make a quality, ecological extra virgin olive oil. Because the flavors are better preserved through this process, their olive oil is perfect for cold use for pasta, salads, tapenades and cold sauces.
Meeting place
As a family home, Encantada serves as a meeting place for families, friends, colleagues, entrepreneurs and everyone in between. It is a place to give back opportunities to treasured dreams and make new memories with loved ones. A space that can be used purely as a place to relax, but just as well to look for some additional focus.
Our presence is the link between guests and locals, interesting activities, cultural trips, language barriers, daily practical problems, ..
Encantada: a home away from home, to delightfully disconnect but also to give new ideas room to grow, in all the familiarity of your own living room.
